Richard, I have driven mudracers and dirt track racers on a quarter mile oval track. It will wear your ass out, fast. It is truly an athletic event if you do it well and that's nothing, compared to the endurance requireed to finish a five hundred mile race with forty other crazy speedfreaks. Racing is a sport, bubba.
Drags are like power weight lifting - you spend all day preparing for your "four seconds" of oppurtunity.

Hockey is approximately as interesting as b-ball or any other fast-paced team
sports. Except there's more blood.

Hockey is cool in person, but television broadcasts always pan away from what I want to see or tease you with just enough of a glimpse to keep you tuned in. AND I can never find the fucking puck, anyway, so the game aspect is lost (for me) on television, too. I'll go to a game, but I won't watch broadcasts.
