sounds like conventional wisdom.

i am interested in thinking outside the box.  differently that all that i know.

it is a slow process....because of my biases.

Now you're sounding delusional.

Shall we switch roles again?

That's because Hitler micro-managed the war.

Erich Von Manstein could've won WWII if given the chance.

I don't buy it. The resources were all in the
wrong hands. Certainly, given the political
decisions, it wouldn't be possible.

Manstein almost pushed the Russians back to the Ural Mts. If Hitler hadn't of interfered, think of all the resources at their disposal.

Always seen this as a fantasy.
But, even if the Urals could have
fallen, the condition of the German
economy was straining heavily under
the effort. US intervention pretty much
would have overcome anything that could
be gained temporarily.

I think that Hitler was trying to end the war
with the USSR early, by what he attempted.

McJ are you for or against calandales spamming?? You seem to speak against it, yet you're always responding to it.

Everyone is for it.
Look, what I call spamming
is what 98% of this forum is
composed of.

i wouldn't go that far.

i am a post whore, but i only consider about 40% of my posts to be whorish in nature.

what do you call spamming?

Pretty much anything I can deal with.
Reasonably short posts which don't have
a lot of detail. Anything off the topic of the
thread.

What by turning away from Stalingrad while it was still undefended and turning south the the Caucasus Mountians??

That was Hitler's #1 blunder.

I agree with Scrap. If they've captured the Caucasian oil fields, the Russians would've lost the war simply because of lack of fuel. That's more or less what Germany itself did in the end; they had almost no fuel or even ammunition in the end.

Look at this map once again, by the way:

I thought we were talking about the northern campaign.
Anyhow, clearly the war could have been pursued better
without an incompetent in overall command. I still contend
that it would have made little difference. What eventually
happened at Stalingrad would have happened somewhere.
The German army simply wasn't big enough for the task.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that Cal and McJ are destined to be together....such narky uptight little bitches.

While I considered a job with the DEA, they never
accepted me.

I don't think that we'd get along together.
I was actually contemplating this very thought
(not he and I 'being together', but simply how
we'd interact), and he strikes me as too much
of a 'regular guy' to be able to deal with me.
Well, if you guys change your mind, let me know.  I think you'd be good and nasty together!
and i suppose that you would like a streaming video?
With voice, so I can be the director.
