I find Lederhosen humorous. For people with no humour, they seem to smile a good deal. Maybe that is because I went to lots of bars.
Wagner, Bach, Brahms and Mozart are basically creators of German music lol. Beethoven was born in Germany, but composed mostly in Austria. Tons of decent German music out there. Necrophagist is a German band. Rammstein is pretty good too.
Wagner? please.
Bach I do enjoy, got me there.
Brahms also settled in Austria.
Rammstein? Industrial/metal counts as noise in my books. Not music :p
Not saying I don't appreciate their noise.
Never heard of Necrophagist, but going by the name... fucking pox.
Noise? There is an actual genre called Noise, and it isn't similar to Rammstein in any way. You think Fear Factory is noise too I guess. That shows your ignorance of music and music theory in general if you think Rammstein is just noise. They aren't all chromatic chaos or anything. More like really heavy dance music.
Necrophagist is a German band that specializes in multimeter riffs and classical style guitar leads. They can be considered Death Metal. You would have to be open minded to enjoy that music though. Something you apparently lack in spades. You think Tool is the end all of music though, which says a great deal. Going by that name, all of their fans should be Tools. I like Tool, but I am no blind fanboy.
Wagner is just epic and over the top. He isn't that bad, just too much for some people.
It doesn't matter where they settled. Austria is almost the same thing as Germany lol. Austrians speak German and their cultures are so intertwined with eachother's that it isn't even funny.
Fuck. Ok.
1st up, up until two weeks ago I was playing bass in a metal band. I know what fucking metal is.
Next, when did I ever say I thought Tool was the best band in existence? I happened to be wearing a Tool t-shirt in my old avatar.
Big shit.
I said I liked Rammstein but I didn't really consider it music. I was taking the piss a bit because they have an undeservedly large following.
But the noise part, as with much metal, I'm referring to the amount of sound which washes out all timbre except an unmelodious distortion and the bass drum, with the odd lyric escaping here and there.
Their recordings may be ok, but metal bands sound shit live 95% of the time.
I study sound art at university so my ideas of "noise" are probably a bit too complex for you to comprehend, fuckface.
Wagner is epic, over the top; which is why I don't enjoy it. I mean I AM open minded, I'll listen to ANYTHING but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy CDs or see performances of his work. Dvorak is more my cup of tea.
Austria and Germany are very
similar, does not mean they are the same thing.
Oh shit, I think Pea is rubbing off on me
