Livers are amazing because a living relative who is compatible can donate just part of their liver and it will regenerate in both donor and recipient.

I saw an autopsy once, the person dropped dead on the street and the heart was really fatty and the liver was in pretty bad shape as the person was an alcoholic, overweight and a chain smoker of Pall Malls unfiltered.

I once found a man shot in the stomach with a shotgun and left to die. It had been about three weeks and they estimated four shots to the stomach with a twelve guage, loaded with bird shot, at close range. He was already dried out, mostly, and his feet were not all there. I called a friend, but he fucked up and told his dad, first. The cops showed up next and he didn't get to see.

Removing their entire penis without anaesthetic would be a closer equivalent.  It would make urination a mess, like it does with females, and it would remove most of the sexual pleasure, but they'd still be able to have kids with a bit of effort.
