No it was a flashing curve line which was restricting my view. I could see around it but not where the flashing line was. The line was like when you look into a light and then look away, only flashing

Was weird

That's the aura before a migraine attack. Some people only ever get the aura but others get the added bonus of a full-blown attack with a headache.

I have had a couple of auras myself, with no headache, very lucky that way.  My father has had the auras regularly for years, sometimes with a
headache he has described as "unpleasant" (obviously not the kind odeon gets).  His mother, on the other hand, had really bad headaches that
made her feel sick to her stomach, and she would have to lie down in a dark room till they passed.  :thumbdn:

I had a really classic aura when I was 21, a C-shaped zigzag line in rainbow colors in my left field of vision.  I'd recently read about
migraine auras, so I knew exactly what I was seeing and wasn't alarmed.  It grew larger and paler over 20 minutes before disappearing.   :nerdy:

I have codeine/cocodamol I think and just ordinary ibuprofen/nurofen

So far I don't feel a headache coming on. could start when I wake up in the morning though

Not sure what the more expensive migraine pills contain but the idea is that you take one as soon as you experience the aura. That way you *might* avoid the headache.

What do they look like, do you know?

I have seen something best described as "bubbles" on occasion, a lot like the bubbles screensaver in Win7 only that the bubbles are larger, darker, and do not move like ordinary bubbles. They definitely look like bubbles, though.

On every occasion that's been it. No headaches afterwards, but typically the aura has lasted for around 40 minutes.

That's how my wife describes hers.

This is what I get. Sometimes I throw up, I know it is a bad headache then. Worst feeling.

Well I hope Soph didn't get a headache after all that.

Stomach aches suck, so I sympathise.

My voice is still annoying me, it hasn't come back properly yet.

If I take an Imitrex as soon as I get the smells I can avoid the migraine all together about half the time.

No meds are that effective for me. I might still get the headache but not as bad.

I have little advice to give concerning migraines/headaches but make sure you drink enough water during the day (or others liquids..
but not coffee or alcohol.. those 'two' tend to take liquids from one's system). Dunno..

~

My quick bitch: Yesterday during a bike ride I got some of those tiny flies/mosquitoes in my eyes.
Tried to get them out there and then but didn't really succeed, I guess. Today my right eye has been bothering me this whole day long.
Hope after a good night's sleep this will be gone.
