Only knew of one vampire when i was growing up -  and he absolutely terrified me... Dracula.  Now there are so many they not scary anymore (at least my niece doesnt seem to think they are and she is only 7)

... no one is afraid to have their blood sucked out because the Hollywood promotional machine and a few others, guilty of such, have (not only over done it, but) changed the horror of having your life force taken away from you by a kind of metaphorical rape into a romantic encounter, where you decide to give up your life force in the false hope that you will fantastically be forever long lived and long loved.

It is just another step along the path of changing the perception of pure and simple (yet, horrific and PERMANENT) rape, socially acceptable by making it more of a metaphor than real life, using everyone's need for romance and just pure hope of fantasy to change the way people think.

Every vampire encounter is very close to rape and as we accept the thought of having our blood forcibly taken or finding a way to justify succumbing to such rape in our minds, in some expectation of romance (the worst kind of rape, where power is taken over the victim to the point that the victim completely lets go their fight) we become ever closer to the reality that rape is totally acceptable and everyone should just shut up about it.

I wonder if your nerves in your arms or legs may be getting pinched?

After I had my ankle surgery, my skin from my ankle down felt like it was sunburned and they told me that it had something to do with the nerves that got moved aside for the surgery.  I guess they must have gotten stretched or pinched.
