I think your mum is right. At the doctors I go to, they send out a letter advising to make an appointment to discuss results. I have had such a letter once and it really scared me, I thought of all sorts of horrible things. Turned out to be nothing, really.

True that, when they see something urgent like that, the chances are there is a GP waiting at home for you to break the news before you come home from having the exam done.

Yeah my stepdad is a doctor and my mum is a midwife so I can get reassurance when I'm unnecessarily paranoid

I think your mum's right.  They wouldn't have been willing to wait for your appointment to discuss it if it had been something serious.  When my mom had cancer, the doctor's office called her to come in with my dad that afternoon to discuss the results.

Callaway, did your mom recover from the cancer? (if you are ok talking about it)

She did recover from that cancer, which was in her uterus.  She had to have a complete hysterectomy at the age of 36, though.

Yes, I get really paranoid about things getting into my ears or even going near them. Last night I slept with my ears covered because I heard a mosquito.

So did my sister when we were kids. She got bitten a lot more than I did.
