Today I went shopping with my mum and as we got near the car with the groceries, I pulled the trolley up over a kerb in the way and hit my ankle with it (the trolley). It looks barely bruised but it still really hurts. No serious injury though.

Could be a deeper positioned bruise, in that case the colouring can come to surface days later.

Maybe the doctor remembers that old Reader's Digest story.  This took place when Gunsmoke was in it's early years.

A young boy woke up one morning and started limping.  This went on for a few days.  His parents took him to 3 or 4 doctors who ran tests and couldn't find anything wrong with him.  Finally, the last doctor asked the boy why he was limping.  The boy said he was playing Chester from Gunsmoke.  

If that's the case, I'd recommend you play Burt Reynolds.  At least he got a cover on Cosmo.
