My leg hurts instead of my hip. Interesting.

Maybe the way you walk/limp (in order to relieve pressure on the hip) is causing muscle strain.

My dog is being unco-operative when I try to grab him for his bath

Too bad your dog isn't like my former landlady's dog (rest in peace  ). The day she brought him home from the shelter, she took him upstairs
to the bathroom and said, "Get in the tub," and this big street-toughened Irish wolfhound/German shepherd stray got right in!

My hips hurt lately, which is a sign that I need to lose at least 10 pounds to take some of the burden off them.
Losing 40 or 50 pounds would probably be better, but I'll feel the difference after 10, I think.
