I go to a laundry mat once a year to wash our comforters.  the last time I was there was hispanic day.  I did some talking with the manager after the activity died down.  She said that she noticed that the Mexican men helped with the laundry while she rarely saw a black man helping a black woman. 

I told Prince Albert he could go this year and do the comforters.  I want him to see that I'm not really having a great fun time doing this.

That's why I bought a large capacity washing machine, so I could wash the comforters and sleeping bags at home.

My comforter *just* fits in the washer and dryer here in my building!

I couldn't justify the added cost and utility costs of running an extra large washer and dryer for just 3 comforters a year.  Last year it cost $7 to wash and dry them.  I did have an extra large washer, but wasn't using it for full loads.  I have a schedule because we don't have a lot of space to store dirty laundry.  Monday and Thursday, whites and underwear; Tuesday and Friday outer clothes; Wednesday and Saturday towels; Sunday sheets.

You have a good point but when I bought these, I didn't have a washing machine or dryer at all, so I decided to go big.  I do wash big loads of clothes besides just using it to wash comforters, though.

I do understand about mustiness, it's a problem I have with my dishwashing clothes.
