Woke up with a full bladder and fainted on the way back from the bathroom.

Have you ever fainted before? Is this usual for you? 

This is the third time that I've fainted; it's not uncommon for me to get dizzy spells, but they don't usually develop into full-blown faints.  Fortunately I didn't injure anything this time; I have a scar on my septum from last time when I whacked my face on the toilet seat on my way down.

I have never fainted myself, but have come close a time or two by standing up too fast from a crouching position.

It just ached slightly and needed some sticky tape to hold down a flap of skin, but I narrowly missed knocking my front teeth out.

I think I mentioned it to him a while back, but he wasn't particularly concerned about it, and I'm pretty sure that you're right about it being orthostatic hypotension.  I probably haven't been getting enough salt lately, and was a bit dehydrated from caffeine.

Just be very slow and careful standing up from a sitting or crouching position, OK? One of these times you could hit your head falling down.
