Slammed my pinkie in a door and popped the nail right out from under the skin.  OW. 

That sucks. 

 


I suppose it will be interesting to watch the evolution of the smashed nail. 

The finger will probably turn black.

The underside of the finger is very darkly bruised, yes. I will be watching it for signs of infection!  

Infection does not normally happen with smashed nails. Pain OTOH is normal under the circumstances.
