I lost Friday don't know how but woke up today and it's Saturday 

Damn, and I thought it was Sunday. 

I loose days all the time. 

I always know the date and time. I think its because I keep a dry erase board with a detailed schedule on my ceiling so its the first thing I see when I wake up.

I even have a propose I gave someone on Friday on a job about an an about away  but no  recollection of writing is must have been the xanax it has  that effect at times

How does she know that a new car would be better? Why wouldn't a new one have hidden defects?

I think it's a foregone conclusion that a new car will have hidden defects.

Perhaps she thinks it's jinxed or something, and is using the 'hidden damage' thing as an excuse so that she looks slightly less silly.

None of this makes any sense. She's usually not superstitions, but maybe she is responding to my "explanation"  of why hers was not damaged, between all those others that were massively damaged.

With me, it's usually the inverse. I live several days at a stretch, then later come to know that all that shit happened in just one day for everyone else.

Our nine year old Buick has been well maintained since we got it (a decent "last year's model" at the time)  in '02.  I would not hesitate to drive to California and back tonight, if the need came up. I would change the oil along the way, but I am not at all worried about the dependability of the car.

An old Volvo from 1950 or so, would be more reliable than a new one from 2000.

It's not paranoia. In the old days (they weren't good, but more honest than now) they made things so that they would last as long as possible. Not anymore.
