Upon arriving home from Annapolis at 1900 yesterday evening I found out my in-laws had visited while I was away hanging out with an old high school friend and neglecting my fatherly duties. The wife was already in a pissy mood from me playing poker most of the day Saturday, although when I came home during the lunch break and told her I was actually doing well she changed her tune a bit, and now I was gone most of the day Sunday. Bad timing and it sucked as I only get the weekends to see my kids anyway, but she laid it on thick Sunday trying to make me feel all guilty how she would be alone with the kids. I get home and the kids are excited to show me all of the stuff their grandparents had given them. I thought it quite funny she failed to mention they were coming at any point. I called her on it and she said it was none of my business. I just replied that if so, then it was none of her business I was meeting my friend all day Sunday for the first time in years despite living less than two hours from each other.
On top of this, she is pissed that my sister is coming by this evening to grab a bunch of boxes with old family pictures my Mum had so she can go through them and put together something for the Family Reunion in a few weeks when we are going to honor her. Considering the circumstances, you'd think she could keep her anger to herself. My sister is just such a horrible person because if we feed her we have to accomodate her vegetarian ways. What an inconvenience this poses!
For the record, my sister never expects to be fed when she visits and often eats before coming, but will eat what we provide to be courteous.
