The entire relevant conversation wasn't nested in his post- I doubt anybody in this thread really 'cares' about Two and a Half Men, per se.  I like watching it because my brain doesn't have to do anything to be entertained by it.

I was originally trying to get to a point where I could ask him about his music interests and how he has time for television, but I drifted too much and lost my heading. I do that, sometimes. That's why I had planned to edit and re-hash my original post, but then we drifted farther.

 

Sleeping very little is one way to find the time. Always doing multiple things at once also allows for more to be done. I watch TV, play on the computer, and do other stuff all at once. Most TV shows don't require my undivided attention, although a few of them I shut everything else down and lock the doors.

There was no internet when I was active in music. (well it was the seventies and eighties - you figure out how much my fucking "carphone,"  a necessary evil in my business, cost me each month - it was more than my restaurant costs, each month- but I HAD to have it - and I HATE phones.)
I have always slept very little. I actually have a formula that explains it all. I have a thirty six-ish hour body clock, not a 24Hr clock. I am awake when everyone else is falling out, then I go do stuff. I nap a couple of times in two to four hour stints during that thirty six hour period, so not much is missed. It comes in handy to have extra time! Always has.

I wonder if any others have actually tried to define the workings of their own system functions as their bodies and mentia fight against the normal way of succumbing to the tidal effects of day and night.

I don't have a "WHY" answer, nor do I need one, but this is what is happening.


I don't necessarily think it's cool. I have had a really tough time forcing my self into a "wake at three AM, stretch the sleep away, exercise enough to know who I am, shower, shit, and eat something that won't hurt me and still get to work by five" routine.

I have had the wrong settings enabled at times when I arrive to work and have to face a half dozen people looking to me for leadership.

BTW, I've gotten a break from the stolidness of it all as my normal start time in my new position is six thirty to eight AM, depending on many things over which I have no control.

This is better, Not as much for making double pay as getting to see the kids in the morning for a bit.

(my pay is insignificant, almost. My wife supports the family. She buys the roof, biscuits, meat and water, while I buy the gravy and wine.)
