We almost always get really dry snow here, and it doesn't make good snowmen or igloos.

... or how about snow castles? There's a nutcase (I think in Ohio) who has made a snow sculpture taller than his house with huge spires, watchtowers and steeples - all out of snow and ice.  He can walk inside.


I used to just set up a sprinkler when it got really cold and allow fractal functions to define the sculptures. It was awesome!

It's complicated. (At least in my head.) Basically I operate under the assumption that the world is a hostile place and people are manipulative shits. So when I go out into the world and discover people being "nice" and "inclusive", it's baffling. I could accept it, except that in their niceness and inclusiveness they actually close out the things that are life-blood to me - adventure, and danger, and extremes. I set out after these things and come off, ironically, like a manipulative shit. But the thing is I don't actually want to be widely liked. If I was (and there have been times in my life I have been) then I would get bored as hell and start sabotaging it.

Signed up for my classes online. 6am and two of the classes I wanted were already full. How early were some of these people getting up? So now I have to go an extra day for one class. I wouldn't mind except that it takes about an hour to get to uni.

I work under that assumption too, though in my uni its probably a wiser one to have compared to elsewhere. See the nice people as having an agenda too like everyone else. Their agenda is to make themselves feel good, like everyone else. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for you they need to avoid guilt. They are just as manipulative, just they have an agenda which suits you more compared to others, i.e. you can benefit from mutually co-operating.
