Shoes are one thing I spend on.  My boots are Chippewas made in the US and cost over $200 a pair I get new ones yearly regular shoes are plain brown work shoes but well made sneakers I don't think I have any

Good work boots are tough. I only find a pair
every couple of years. Probably not sufficient
for you. My current pair have lasted about 7 years,
but I seldom wear them.

Sneakers are easy. There are kids who can't stand
having scuff marks on them, and pitch/give them to
goodwill.

I always get favourite shoes and wear them for a while, then switch to new ones.

First it was dolly shoes, then Doc Martens and now I have my trusty falling-apart Converses

dolly shoes are so cool.  they're mary janes in the U.S., and i'm crocheting my second pair this weekend, as we speak. 

and i have loads of pairs of Docs, and a pair of fuschia Converses.
