I hate everything to do with telephones. The absolute worst part of being all by myself at work on Saturday and covering both back areas was having to deal with the telephone. Responding to a voice over a telephone is very difficult for me and it takes too much mental resource. It is exhausting to try to perceive words from a scratchy little compressed and distorted speaker with a truncated tonal capacity.

I did tech support and member retention at AOL.   I had to force myself to get used to talking on the phone to people.   I hated that job lol.

That wouldn't be bad as my parents don't get that many phonecalls while they are at work.   AOL was non-stop phonecall hell, the crazy shit people would say to me... I will never forget.

I can't imagine something like that.
I was punked by doing a part time job as a inside contact to an outside salesman. I lasted about six months. I had just begun to receive commission, but I could handle no more.

I went into drug rehab for a year after AOL, there was no way I could do that job sober.   I couldn't take the constant idiocy that was the AOL customer base (99 percent of all problems are PBKAC).   The bad thing is that I quit before I got vested in their stock options.   If I were still working with AOL, I would be fully vested and able to retire.   When I was working there.... the lady who trained me retired for life.   I started two weeks before the AOL/Time Warner merger.   There were people retiring with millions of dollars in stock.
