I seriously considered to have Dec as an avatar, either a pic of the real Dec or Zer0's caricature of him, and call myself "Francis E. Dec, Esquire of the Aspie Elite". But on the other hand, changes are against my principles most of the time. Black Bart is as good, I think.

I'd prefer it if people kept the same usernames cos when they change them you've got to figure out who they are.  Avatars I like to see people change- sometimes people have really annoying (or dull) avatars, it doesn't cause confusion since I can read their usernames still.
