To explain my hatred against "private" roads: It's a thousand year old tradition, especially in western Sweden, that you may pass wherever you like except through people's garden or fields with crops. It's not in the law, but it's an ancient tradition. Making "private" roads or other thing "private" is breaking that old tradition. But I mostly blew up this particular sign because the cops gave me a speed ticket.

How do you know I'm not?  But after McVeighs bombing, ammonium nitrate became harder to get even here in Sweden, and they often treat it with other chemicals, so it won't detonate (I'm talking about the fertilizing stuff now).

Yes. Signs saying "Private road" or "Vehicles without permission not allowed" irritate me. In Sweden, there are no really private roads, except for the road to your garage or something like that. The right to possess ground isn't that unconditional; no one can stop me from walking in his forrest, for instance.

The "private road" signs usually mean that the roads are, um, private. And yes, there are laws against trespassing.

Yes, but no one takes them seriously. I've never heard that anything happened to anyone who drove on a "private" road. I've done it dozens of times myself.

They can't have semi-communism. Either we have a free society, where Mr. Litigious has a right to buy a gun over the counter and we have private roads and private property, or we have a communist society where Mr. Litigious is allowed to drive where he pleases. Cowardly gun laws=Mr. Litigious drives where he pleases.

I actually agree on this. That's the reason why I oppose the private road concept in the first place.
