My wife does not want to drive her car anymore, after all those around hers had so much horrible damage and hers didn't get anything except a couple of dozen tiny dents, barely visible, no deeper than a playing card's thickness.

She wants to buy a new car. She doesn't trust this one.

No amount of trying to make her understand that the fact that hers got nothing is IN FACT a good sign, is working. She doesn't trust it anymore and does not feel comfortable driving it.

I am still going to have to buy a new car this month.

She is afraid that there are now a thousand things that will go wrong with it, which are hidden from view and which the mechanics can not find untill she is stranded somewhere. She no longer feels that she can depend on her car.



Fuck!! I though I was the one being mystical by giving credit to some force beyond my understanding for the fact that her car had no damage. Now she expects for hidden damage to crop up at odd times.

I may not be able to get past this one. She is convinced that her car has suffered the same degree of damage,  the same as those which had panels pummeled and windows blown out and seats ripped up, but it is not yet visible.

She can not accept that we got a bye from the expense of a storm-wrecked car.


I am throwing my hands up. It's been all week (since Monday!) trying to convince her that her car is the same as it was before.

Perhaps she thinks it's jinxed or something, and is using the 'hidden damage' thing as an excuse so that she looks slightly less silly.
