What brand webcam?   Might find better software on the net (updated drivers too).   My USB webcam was acting funny, but I got it working as the drivers were fucked the first time I installed them and had to reinstall the entire software package with the webcam unplugged.

Neither my ancient and shitty Logitech cam or my Panasonic NV-DS65 camcorder/webcam are working with Microsoft Timershot, but Windows Live Messenger can detect and the Panasonic camera.  I wanted to take time-lapse pictures with Timershot, but it seems that loads of people can't get it to recognise their webcams.
