Today for the second time I failed to make new sidings for my Swiss army knife. Thing is, the small and thin pieces of wood (first try was with merbau, today the second try was with meranti wood) keep 'dividing' at the wrong places making them not okay to use, imo.
Bugger, the pieces are just too small to work with properly. Wish I could use softer wood for that's easier to cut and form without pieces coming off that easily. Just think it could be damaged or dented too easy being on a very often used knife.
Could glue the old plastic sides on the knife again (or leave it be/even buy a new one) but I'm not going to give up yet cos it would be cool to have a Swiss army knife with self-made sides on it.
