St Martins day today, remotely similar to Halloween, that is, young kids go from door to door, with lanterns they made themselves, sing songs, and get candy.
I went with the youngest, my oldest went to see a friend. And I left a bowl with well packed candy outside, with some coloured lights and an arrow to make clear that it was there, and that kids could take some themselves.
Coming home, there was a small pile of candy on the pavement, and the bowl was gone. Idiots. Was a simple plastic bowl, no big loss or so. But what is the fun in taking away a bowl, and leave candy on the ground? What kid will pick up candy just from the pavement? They won't, that's gross.
Hope not too many kids got disappointed, and that it only happened at the end of the evening.
