A soup kitchen is not for junkies!  I volunteered in one for a bit and all sorts of people turn up.  Those drop-in centres are awesome though, you should give them a go.  Some of them tend to be Catholic.  When my mum threw me out of the house, I went to one and the people there are really helpful

we are a welfare nation, so everyone poor gets welfare. theoretically.
gvt will sometimes even find a flat FOR you if you repeatedly fail to find one, despite you supposedly having to find it yourself, and then deliver the bills to welfare offices.
i have a VERY handy automatic-payment deal, they pay my bills. again. in theory
the ones _still_ on the street are those who insist on spending all their welfare money on junk.

I don't mean a soup kitchen though, cause fair enough, your particular one may be lousy.  I meant a drop-in centre, where you can get light meals, snacks and hot drinks.  Also they let you sit around, read books, do activities, get laundry done etc.  Isn't there anything like that in Norway?

nope
norway has forgotten its past experiences w poverty, since the oil in the 60's and the change to a welfare state poverty more or less doesnt exist, cus all poor recieve welfare and are technically no longer poor.
it just sucks when welfare for whatever reason stops, and your back to being dirt-poor

the only place "lower" than welfare to turn to is a downtown church used as a soup-kitchen. out of 150 000 inhabitants, we only have a small handfull of people who are SO poor that they need a soup-kitchen.
its okay tho, i was just venting
ill go by welfare tomorrow, and tell them i am *this* close to start selling drugs
(which would be catastrophic, cus nobody knows me, and i'd basically end up buying shitloads of drugs )
