how would i know, other than the fuck up with iTunes?  i'm on cable, if that's got anything to do with it.   ???

Probably low bandwidth, so every time you try doing something else on the Internet, iTunes gets the hickups. Doesn't have to be your connection, though--try listening to some other site online and see if it's any better. Maybe iTunes have server problems?
