He was like Hendrix, in one way. He woke up in the morning, farted, scratched his balls, and turned on the recorders, except he lived much longer. A complete Zappa collection would be near to impossible. The body of his work that is available is astounding, quantity and quality wise.
I have a decent collection, but most of it is from download, MP3. I listen to here his incredible music, but the quality of an MP3 never satisfies me, until you get into the higher bitrates, huge file sizes.
The way he left the discussion of copyrights, I don't think he minds that we copy his CDs from the library or each other, even if some of us get the shakes from doing it. (I feel guilty, but I get over it) I have turned my back on the RIAA and I pity the beginning talent who must use their methods to promote themselves, for they will not win, until they are free from that "beast".
Zappa For President! (I used to have that T-shirt)
