Are your crocuses up yet?
About one third of my crocuses survived the early winter growth spurt (I had some crocus blooms in December, in the exposed areas) during the unseasonably warm weather, along with most of the tulips.
The daffodils' and the hyacinths' yearly blooms were destroyed, except six out of hundreds, but the mother plants seem to be growing, fine, so next year should be OK. Buddleias are dead above ground, (big bummer, I had eleven years in one plant's structure - it was considered a neighborhood novelty attraction, since no one else had a Buddleia "tree") however, and the flowering stone fruit trees have lost their blooms.
Lilacs, clematis, dogwoods and viburnums are all fine, but with some loss of young growth from the strange warm weather.
It's not as bad as I feared, during my last retarded flirtation with depressing thoughts. ... and possibly, all the extra mulching did some good, also.
