About 20 years ago, rifles were pretty easy to obtain legally in Sweden. You just had two persons to sign that you were realiable and law obedient, and then apply for your license, but I was too young at that time. Rifles are still easier to get than pistols, but you have to take expensive shooting courses to get your application through. A cheap shooting course costs about $1500...

If you wanted to fire a gun just to try it out, you could usually go to a local shooting range, even if you weren't a member, like you still can in the US. That isn't possible anymore, as far as I know.

I have not hunted in years. My Dad hunts alot Himself even My Mother hunts sometimes too.

I have only hunted a few times in Indiana. It is more of a challenge, when you can only use a shortrange weapon, like a slug-loaded shotgun, muzzle loading cap-fired blackpowder gun, or a bow. I used to enjoy stalking when I could use a big revolver on my quarry. Using a long-gun while stalking below an animal's sightline requires a singular woodsman's skill that many can not achieve, including myself.

I actually have 1 lb of muzzle loading powder here, an American brand. No gun to use it in, though. I bought it to use in firework mortars, but I haven't been arsed getting most of the other stuff for it.

My brother used to reload his shells, but I don't know if he still does that.

Did he make his own fireworks? Cool.  You can make them here in Sweden too, since powder and chemicals are free for the most part, but shells are a bit complicated to build, though.
