Touching moments in movies.
« on: February 04, 2007, 01:20:24 AM »
There are some really touching moments in spider man 2.  However it is so painful watching the first half of the movie because he suffers so much injustice, with no support.  It is painful to watch.
And as always, these are simply my worthless opinions.

Not seen that. Schindler's list is the one that always gets me, but oddly, not at the horrific camp parts, but the end where the survivors are walking over the hill ...it is the music I think partially.

Who else cried at those touching moments in Shining?

it is well known that PMS Elle is evil.

I can't tell if you're serious about there being touching moments in the shining, or if you are just being sick.  But either way, that link is hilarious.

Theres a funny "French and Saunders" Misery (stephen king) spoof on YouTube.  If you put in "French and Saunders" Misery to search I think it comes up.

I guess the obvious one is the one at the end of Amelie where they finally meet.  I feel like a total girl for sharing that. :cheer:

i liked the miniseries Shining better. it is more touching too, Stephen King has a cameo in it and i think he was producing it as well. it's more faithful to his book. Kubrick made Jack more assholy than he is in the book. but the miniseries Jack is all cuddly and cute, especially since he's played by one of my überfavorite actors, Steve Weber. :P

I am a big fan of the novel, but I hated that Shining TV movie.  It looked so cheap and badly made, like a daytime soap.  I would love to see a remake of the Shining that follows the book more closely, but surely they can make one that looks better than that crap!   At least the Kubrick film, for all its faults, had the novel's fear.  I like Stephen King's books but I don't understanmd why he always makes cheap TV Movies of them, because they never turn out that good!

the miniseries has better special effects than the kubrick movie! and better acting.

Stephen King doesn't make the movies, he just gives up the rights easily cuz he is a fan of movies. and his B movies totally rule, they are classics.

He's not particularly nice in the book...he's an alcoholic, he breaks his son's arm in rage, he beats up a student severely (even though the student more or less deserves it)...and that's before the hotel makes him crazy...
