Why is the Sky Purple?
Is it? Where I'm based it's grey. May be purple on your part of the world though.
Do you agree that the Matrix is a Transgender Allegory?
On a re-watch a few years ago, it's very much clear. Plus one of the creators confirmed it. An interesting thing I learned is that around the mid to late 1990s, one of the more common hormone pills was called Premarin, which happened to be red.
The irony being that "red pill" is a term used by far-right groups when the initial idea was dreamed up by two women that seem to be everything they're against isn't lost on me.
One of the characters in the film, who literally went by "Switch" was meant to actually be male in reality while female in the digital world but the studio nibbled this in the bud. Same with a few other ideas for the movie, such as humans not being used as a power source but rather our brains being used as processors.
Other people have done more of a deep-dive on this sorta thing so I'm not about to write out a whole essay.
In short, yeah.
