Someone told me I shouldn't have taken the vaccine because it could cause autism.

Should I tell them?  I think I should tell them.

I've only ever had one person bring up vaccines and autism. I called them Jenny.  :zoinks:

In the disaster that is Sweden's Covid response, there is now talk of bypassing EU's central purchasing strategy and talking to manufacturers directly. Wondering what the thinking is.

"Yeah, we know you said you don't have more to sell to the EU, but we're much prettier."

Some suggest we go to the Russians and the Chinese, too.

You could ask the EU if they could give you all the UKs vaccines that it insisted on having but then not using.

Mainly because the French, German and EU  leaderships criticised it when they were having their spat with Britain about it's supply.  Then they got a supply.  Now their people are refusing it because of what they said - mostly that it had no benefit to older people.

Our authorities said the same thing for a while. They've changed their tune now.

A doctor friend of mine got the first AstraZeneca shot the other day. He got a massive headache for a day or so but is OK now.

With the Pfizer jab (first dose) I was fine for two days.  Day three I spent wondering if I was having a heart attack.  Day 4 felt like I'd been given a kicking.  Day 5 I was fine.

Nowhere near getting one myself yet. It's deathly slow here.

Enough time has passed to allow a different approach to viewing mortality via excess mortality. For those who might find it of interest, https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/excess-mortality-p-scores?year=earliest&time=2020-01-05..2020-08-16 The link is very user friendly, allowing to add and remove countries within the data set, setting date ranges, while accommodating for chart, map, and table views.
Returned to this link out of curiosity. Canada has since been added to the data set, though Australia is still missing. Recall reading before, somewhere on the site, they don't plan to include countries which they don't trust the numbers, but can't imagine Australia would be among those, so maybe it will be added later. When sliding the bar completely to the right, it looks like the US is on the up trend of a third wave.
Checking back on this link. Australia has now been added to the data set.

Just got my first this morning (AstraZeneca).  Feeling fluey and beaten up now 15 hours later, was ok before tea. Not sure how long the tracking chip takes to activate though.  :tinfoil:
