New video games!!

Hey, why not post new games (or old ones) and your reviews?

Here's one I just got:


Its called Gris, which is the name of the main avatar. It's a lot of fun so far- starts off kind of emo, but the artistry is beautiful, and it gets more pleasant-dreamlike as she moves through the levels. Its basically a game of incredibly beautiful puzzles, and you build up moves and abilities as you go on, using the various moves to figure out how to move forward.

Admittedly I had to use part of a walk through on youtube to figure out the vibe of the game, but I quickly stopped needing that. It rewards creativity. For those who are regular gamers (not me), you likely can figure stuff out without a walk through.

It's a pleasant game to play, and you can fling your self off a cliff, and you sort of glide-fall down, without injuring yourself. Its a nice game. Takes strategy.

Need another console...kid is hogging the controller.

So far I've watched him play Assassin's Creed Odyssey and the new one he just got, Red Dead Redemption 2.

Odyssey is impressive, and I was never a huge Assassin's Creed fan...graphics look great, story line is different and interesting with more choices and possible outcomes...I like it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a huge surprise...graphics I think are amazing...the world is huge, and everything is more true to life. I might actually enjoy this one.

I was waiting for Fallout 76...but the online aspect and the horrible reviews, $$, stalled me from purchasing...although I'm sure I will find something about it I like even though.

Looking forward to this next year I will say that...

Currently playing the Switch until he gets tired of Red Dead Redemption 2...

I love the Switch...best portable console I've played so far and the controller layout for me is spot on.

Zelda Breath of the Wild is an awesome game. The world is huge, the available DLC's expand it even more. Graphics are beautiful, the interaction with various characters, and countless puzzles keep my attention...and it has dragons.  It's sucked up countless hours of my time...roaming, exploring...and a year later I still find things I overlooked the first time. 



Super Mario Odyssey I just started...it's good, a lot of fun but I already know it's going to be way too short.

I LOVE the fallout series. One of the best game lines ever, if I had to pick 3, it'd be the fallout series, the x-com series (retro but has been modded to hell and back, by some folk best described as fanatics, willing to rebuild the source from in-memory code digs, in ASM, with the exception of enforcer, which has the feel of one of those arcade shooter crapfests, and to a degree, interceptor, great series, first two date from the early '90s, but endlessly replayable, especially with the fan hacks and mods.)

And of course, doom. Loved doom III, the overhaul of the graphics really got the atmosphere right.
