Why IS Odeon a dickhead?

This forum has over a decade peeled off the superficial layers of his psyche to expose the idiot beneath?
There is really no boundaries for this petty tyrant and he is playing a very NT PR program to present himself as a moral and intellectual bastion whilst ACTUAL being an arsehole?


I don't know myself and I am interested in other opinions that are not Odeon or his two sycophants - IceQueen or Minister of Silly Walks (both of whom I believe will defend him with an intensity normally reserved for cultists).

It is not really a question of WHETHER Odeon is a dickhead but rather the more important question , as to WHY he is a dickhead (because Dickhead he certainly is) but why that is the case.

My opinion, gentle reader, is that Odeon is someone that is very conflicted in a lot of ways. I think that he is someone that is falling considerably short of his self-actualisation and WANTS desperately to be a better person than his values suggests he is. I suspect on a superficial level he does great and is smiled at by the person he buys coffee from and agreed with when it comes to suggestions made at work and possibly even is not kicked out of bed nightly by his wife.

But I think as he looks in the mirror he sees through the glass reflection. I think when he finishes his snarky responses or neg his karma on here or sees his family off and out of the house and is left with his own persona in an enclosed space, he hates it. He hates the loneliness, he hates being alone with himself and his persona. His identity, his persona, his body and the knowledge of who he knows himself to be. The weasel, the slimeball. the duplicitous, the coward, the hypocrite, the liar, the petty tyrant, the faker, the clown, the fool, the virtue signaler, the user, the pawn, the NPC.

I would fucking neck myself.

I also have a moral quandary for you Odeon. One that will truly shed some light on your moral character.

You are walking down the street and you spot a 50 Euro note lying on the footpath. There are a number of other pedestrians around but nobody else appears to have spotted it yet. You bend down to pick it up and, as you do, you accidentally let rip a loud and noxious fart. Do you:
(a) Admit that the fart was yours but don't apologize, and keep the money
(b) Apologize for the fart and keep the money
(c) Attempt to blame someone else for the fart, and hand the money in at the nearest police station so that they can keep it
(d) Loudly announce "hey, did anyone drop 50 Euros. And by the way, who farted?".
(e) Act as if the fart never happened, and donate the money to charity
(f) Pick up the note and use it to fan away the fart
(g) Leave the note where you found it, hoping that the rightful owner will come back and pick it up. And try to quietly squeeze the fart out as a silent-but-deadly.
(h) Stand on the note, ask a passing foreigner to pull your finger, then while everyone is either laughing or disgusted you pick up the note and stride away.

New option just for Odeon:
(z) Look more closely at the note, and written in a childish scrawl are the words "This muny is bee long too Al". Still not sure who the owner of the note is, you flip it over and see "Odiun iz an big meenie", removing all doubt. You take the money to the nearest pharmacy and purchase some butthurt cream. Because somebody really needs it.

I would say the fart was a frog and give the money away the next time I met a beggar.  Jack doesn't always carry cash, but when she does have cash she usually forgets about it because she never uses cash, so I give all her cash to beggars.

I do not think he is a Meanie. I think he is a dickhead. I know there are some on here who can't make the differentiation.

I am wondering about this.
I thought to myself, this place has a pretty static membership of the same old regulars. Sure some like Tequila may come back and sometimes for a while and sometimes not, but generally the dozen or so regulars have by and large been here for about 10 years.

It is like a 1 star age facility where you know that the patrons there will eventually drop off and the chances of further recruiting is almost non-existent.

So I wondered why one would try to insinuate their power given that?

The easy answer, would be "because he is an idiot". That seems a bit too easy.

I think given the above, any machinations are going to be felt by the forum. He needs to do very little to shake things up and push his authority. But why in a dying online aged facility?

I think that it is more than likely a symptomatic. I think he has little power to control things outside of here and so his propensity for being a little petty tyrant making threats and "moderating" is heightened.

Or he is just a spiteful, precious, cowardly, virtue signaling, hypocritical little authoritarian and it is harder to gloss over, excuse or cover up these traits when there is so few of us
