Fun words and terms from some of my interests:

Thermionic - valve amplification

Hysteresis - magnetics

Gaussian - magnetics

Reverberation constant - Acoustics problem solving term, along with reverberation times (say it fast a bunch of times)

Acoustician - One who does acoustic preparations prior to a recording session (one of my specialties was determining and correcting the causes of sonic colorations)

Circles of confusion - limits maximum resolution in any photographic reproduction process

Ballistic coefficient - Aerodynamics of a bullet (super-simplified) How well a bullet will cut through the air.

Sectional Density - A direct indication of the penetrating power of a bullet (mass/diameter2 of a projectile)

Angle of incidence - photography - lighting angles - Measured from a plane perpendicular to the axis of  the receiving lens

Asplenium - Botany - Genus of ferns (Ferns are a special interest, inside a special interest)

Monocotyledons - Botany - Single flower leaf ( another word that sounds like your tongue is doing tai chi exercises)

Epiphytic - Horticulture - plant that grows on other plants, but not parasitic

Lithophytic - Horticulture - plant that grows on rocks

Angiosperm - Botany - flowering plant (try telling a receptionist that she has a number of angiosperms on her desk)

Zygomorphic - Botany - bi-laterally symmetrical (it's just hard to find a conversaton to drop this word into)

Phalaenopsis - Botany - Genus of orchids (want to talk about orchids, anyone?)

Thermionic, thermionic, thermionic!

1.   trickery or deception by quibbling or sophistry: He resorted to the worst flattery and chicanery to win the job.
2.   a quibble or subterfuge used to trick, deceive, or evade.

Yes! ... that's how I felt yesterday! Another good word for that is "disposable", and that discribes me even better.

How about recrementitious?

I know this word is not uncommon.  And also, I am somewhat pissed off it became 7 of 9's catch phrase, because she was such an over played character, and she often used it incorrectly.  But I am a big fan of irrelevant.

That is how I describe myself. ^_^
And as always, these are simply my worthless opinions.
Reverence is fine, Sanctity is silly.
We're all fucked, it helps to remember that.

... but how often do you get to use that word with 'normal people'?

Fuck a bunch of words!

I agree that you are irrelevant, but if you do not lay off of Star Trek, I am going to remove your skin and ravage you, alive, in ways that you have not, yet, known.

I am familiar and enough of a fan of star trek that I have license to point out where it fucked up.  They gave 7 of 9 too much story time, and you know it.
