Basically I am a re-seller, or the geek the neighbors call when stuff breaks, and I don't leave the house much. But the last two months I'm dealing with phone calls, meetings, and secretarial duties trying to get stuff lined up with the kid. SO was "handling it" because I "am a dingbat" according to him and my MIL. I am more than happy to stay out of the picture, contribute from the sidelines, and remain quiet to reinforce that whenever possible...because I've found over the years it's a lot less stressful....and I really, really hate the phone. ...but then sometimes, someone "needs to meet me"...and they ask me a question (while I try to hide in the chair farthest away), they discover I have a brain...and then shit goes south.

You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.
