Divorce Papers Signed
« on: March 29, 2017, 12:17:29 AM »
Theresa May signed the formal letter triggering Article 50 yesterday. In other news, the Scot lawmakers voted for holding another independence referendum in less than two years time. Mrs May will deny the request, saying that now is not the time and insisting that the union is now more important than ever before.

It is interesting to note how she defends keeping one union for the same reasons used to getting rid of another.

Since the pound has gone down significantly against the dollar, I'm not happy about this. I mean, it was going down anyway, but that was a drop.

The whole debate was designed to confuse people.

This country is full of shitheads who like blaming other people for "taking their money". I think most of them are in my fucking county.

It's interesting how Scotland want to become 'independent' because the UK voted to independent from the EU, and interesting how the 'independence' party in Scotland want want to break away from the UK and become part of the EU itself   :facepalm2:

While I am amused by your trying to model your post after mine, Scotland wishes to *remain* a member of the EU. You got it wrong.

It's OK, though, Benji. You really aren't that bright.

:facepalm2:  Oh the irony.  Scotland isn't an EU member you fucking imbecile.  The UK is!  If Scotland broke away from the UK they would have to negotiate their own deal.

Hope your foot recovers from that gunshot wound.

Let me try to explain this in simple words:

Scotland is currently part of the UK. The UK is currently an EU member but wants to leave. Scotland wishes to remain in the EU.

See where this is going yet? Should I add pictures?

You and Benji are saying the same thing. Benji is right. You are right.

No one is an imbecile for not understanding and no one is too stupid and in need of pictures.

At least not over this particular position

Scotland DOES want to be part of the EU and NOT part of UK. UK IS pulling out. It is fait accompli. They are dragging a disagreeable Scotland with them. It is a stupid situation.

BUT I say in the spirit of Braveheart remaining independent from Britain is.....brave  :viking:

I think that the EU is on a knife edge at the moment. I sure as Hell would not bet on it being around in 5 years. IF France remains in the EU then maybe. IF Le Pen wins this year or next election and removes itself from the EU then she will be the wound that eventually kills them. France, Germany, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands are the foundation. Take away any one of these and you weak the EU possibly past recovery. Take away Germany and there is no EU at all.

EU survived Geert Wilders BUT he came a lot closer than he should. Marine Le Pen? I like her and I think she has a real chance to take France out of the EU. IF she does then I do not believe that the EU will die straight away but die it will. I think depending on how many non-EU stanced politicians from Italy, Spain and Netherlands are emboldened depends on how quickly it does.

Funny fact, the populists of Europe try to work together, but they disagree on so much. Wilders is not tolerating dislike for Jews and gays for instance. Other populist porties have very different views on that. Their ideas on socialist influences are very different too.

The Netherlands now has three populist parties in the second Chamber. Two of them may work together. The other absolutely not. The last group is the only party not standing behind our PM when it comes to huis reactions towards Erdogan.

Erdogan may be a big force in uniting Europe as a Union. Nothing bonds as well as a shared threat.  Stay tuned, nothing is certain.

Look I hate to be mean-spirited but I think that Geert is a little unhinged. Le Pen, she is solid. There is a lot to like about her and in looks too she reminds me a little of someone else somehow. Trump is not Farage is not Gerrt is not Farage. I do not think that each is going to hold the same values because they are populist and neither do I think the term is derogatory. I like Farage and more so than Le Pen who I like more than Trump who I like more than Geert. I do not think they hold the same values or that their consituents are even similarly motivated. there may be some cross over an dsome not so much.

I know that you fucking imbecile.  Scotland wants to become a member of the EU itself, which is completely different to it being in the EU while part of the UK.  Scotland isn't a member of the EU, that's a fact, the UK is a member of the EU.  I've tried to make things as simple as possible for you.  You tried to catch me out by accusing me of something I wasn't even wrong about, just because you wanted to avoid the points I made.

Also, the UK voted to leave which included Scotland.  Scotland didn't have a separate vote on it and none of these bad losers mentioned this before the vote.  The majority of Wales voted to leave as well as England.  I doubt we'd be having the chance to leave the EU individually.
