Woodstock 68
« on: September 20, 2016, 11:36:13 PM »
I was there, all 3 days. Anyone else there? Questions, for those that weren't?

I can remember some of it.

It was big, no really big. Wasn't as big when we first got there, but damn.... I went to Summer Jam too and no comparison.

While leaving, my friend, Greg, asked me what I thought of it all, Woodstock? I said, aren't all concerts like this? I had only seen the Young Rascals at Iona State before, all I knew.

Fine Lady, remember her well. Son?

No one invited the SDS, but, rumors be what they were, terrorists around us, what ya gonna do?

Did I say SDS? meant the weathermen. Bombs on stage is what I'm sayin, no different then.

I missed Woodstock.  I was only three years old, and my parents listened to Lawrence Welk!  :emosad: :P

I missed it too. I was a nine-year-old Brit who wanted to be a hippie when i grew up (because hippies did interesting things like eating  magic mushrooms and seeing God, according to my Dad's tabloid "newspaper".  I reckoned that seeing God easily beat being a teacher or an astronaut when I grew up)

Ofc, by the time I was old enough to be a hippie, the original hippies had either sold out or cracked up , but i made friends with a few of them anyways. I never did get around to trying acid, though, despite making friends with one or two actual  dealers. They were too protective of me.  The excessive impact of one or two tokes on a joint on my peculiar Aspie brain were quite funny enough. They figured the effects of anything harder would be downright scary.

They were probabl;y right,  I finally got the chance when I was 30-ish, and i just kept the tab in a little box until...i don't know what. I just completely forgot it was there.

It's weird to get to this kind of age, still feeling like the baby of that scene.

It's weird to be 50.  50 going on 14 in many ways.
