So, perhaps simply attempting to have democracy or
freedom is foolish, in the end?

Wouldn't it be better to have an autocracy, where
everyone simply knew their place, and followed all
of the (by definition) benevelant laws?

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and all that.

I don't believe in guns paving the way for freedom, though, because any time somebody has a gun and uses it, s/he will restrict someone else's freedom.

It's just the way it is, and you can rant away about freedom fighters and the ability to defend yourself and your property all you want. It's just the way it is. Give a person a gun and the gun will corrupt, eventually. "Oppressor" is just a fancy word for "enemy".

That would be an alternative too, but the current fraud "democracy" is just a bad joke and an insult to intelligence. Anarchy or autocracy or meritocracy, but no goddamn "democracy".

NOT if it's truly absolute. Then it cannot be corrupted.

Not if they get the drop.  :evillaugh:

The cops have guns and use them on occasions, sometimes highly illegaly, even here in Sweden. No guns for the people no guns for the cops. Not in a country that calls itself a democracy. Then I demand that they at least admit that it's a dictatorship, led by incompetent fools.

You could try holding your breath until they agree to do that. :green:

Of course that would be a better system with me as the god empress of the world.
my laws would be benevelant i promise

Although a less drastic idea would be to pay the polles the same as school teachers get, that would stop them going into politic for the money at least

Proof that YOU would be corruptable.

We, at least, wouldn't make such foolish pretense -
Our laws are just and benevelent, and any naysayers
never existed, in the first place.

Corruptible is the wrong word, it implies that there would be an out side forse involved. I am to arrogant for anyone to tempt me + what would they tempt me with. If I was already an all powerful ruler.

Give me a few weeks in power there would be no nay Sayers left.

Doesn't mean he was WRONG.

But must he have been completely wrong for that? Think about the new bugging law in Sweden. Think about how they can track you through your cell phone or GSP. Think about the "terror" laws. Think about what happens with "litigious" persons, not at least in Sweden. They're branded as maniacs, whether it's true or not. Etc.

I'm not saying he was entirely wrong, but phrases like "Frankenstein slave" hurt his (and your) credibility.
