I'm at work so I'm pretty sober.  However, from home I have posted while drinking...  I have made some "more than friendly"  comments.  (mostly to the female population).  I wish there was someway of flagging the "Poster" as "writting under the influence"  so the comments would be read with that in mind.  I try not to write anything that I wouldn't also write soberly, it just seems that my inhibition goes underground.

You can borrow some of mine, if you want, I don't really care.

I really ought to be leveling up.  I'd say improving myself, but I don't really think it is an improvement to learn german or learn statistics, or learn how scholars analyze music or how fools pervert the world into their limited twisted interpretation of logic.  It is more like leveling up.  Impartial accumulation of knowledge, a lot of which is useless to me.
And as always, these are simply my worthless opinions.

Well, I decided that I would rather learn a little about something than carry on as I have been, just watching movies and posting on the net. The more I learn, the more I will have to talk about too. Every since watching that 'Elizabeth' tv thing, I have wanted to learn more about her, so I got a book on her. Even if I dont manage to read it all, I can accumulate some. And I read some on Mozart too last night, as these historical people fascinate me.  I can never see them as being essentially like us, only from another period etc. It does not seem to compute in my brain because of the things they did...like beheading, but then, parts of humanity still uses the electric chair and chops off hands for theft, so not that much has changed I guess.

Well, i'd love to improve myself.  But that wont get me what I need in the long term(within 10 years).

I suppose it depends what you need and whether what you need is attainable and whether what you think you need is actually what you really need?

I need to become a psychologist to prevent my fathers whining to bother me.  What would improve me is almost entirely different from that.  But it is not financially possible to do what is true to my happiness first then, do what is true to my fathers vision of my security.

What I wanted to achieve in life does not seem possible, but I would also not do what my parents want as it is my life and not theirs. My ex when I met him, had been working in a factory doing the motherboard printing for 16 years. It was a dead end job...he wasn't happy, but it was a routine he knew and it felt safe. Once I arrived, for some reason or other, he left his job...I remember helping him to write the letter to his employer and encouraging him to make the move...and he applied to go to college to take A-levels(British Qualifications you need for university) and he did very well and got 4 A-levels. He applied to university and he got in on a psychology course as to do psychology had been his ambition. He did well on it, getting a 2:1 and also managed to get a full counselling qualification. He is now hoping to move onto clinical psychology training having spent several years working in care to acquire the necessary money and experience for that. When I met him, he hardly mixed with people, had no understanding really of emotions(Well, he is an aspie) and would not leave the island he lives on for fear of getting lost.

Whenever he came to london with me to stay with my family for xmas and theatre visits, my mother made him do little things on his own.  remember once she sent him back to a large store alone to get himself a pair of jeans...gave him the money for them. He behaved very badly, and sulked and got angry, but he did manage it and came out armed with his pair of jeans. Since I left him, he has achieved even more. He always had an interest in pyrotechnics. He has gone on to learn circus skills and fire spinning to a level where he is paid to put on performances. He has even gone abroad to Greece to perform, which I found incredible. He is better at socialising than I am now, and to me, that goes to show what can be achieved as he is from a finacially poor background and had quite bad social issues. Then again, here in the Uk, your university fees are paid for you if your parents are below a certain income.

The problem with most fathers, especially good ones, is that they already have a sizable dose of regrets from a misspent youth and would do anything to prevent their children from experiencing those regrets. Of course, the child does not think of themselves as misspending their youth, because they are not aware of how completely their needs and desires change with maturity. Those regretting fathers didn't know either, during their youth, in spite of their fathers.
