Ben Shapiro is a very smart guy. Very articulate and great in a debate. However i agree with about half of what he says. I have not watched the video yet. Have to go to bed

Even before I posted this, I could see how he was shifting the goalposts from country to country to make his point. I agree with several points that Jon Greenberg makes in this article but I still agree with Ben's main point although I wouldn't use the word "radicalized".

I think what Ben shows with his video is just how ultra-conservative (by the standards of the rest of the world) the Islamic world is.

I think it proves what Ayaan Hirsi Ali says, that Islam is in need of a liberalizing reform movement.

I really don't think you can get a good cross section polling in those countries,  in general women don't have much of a voice so the people answering will be mostly male and  unless it's anonymous people tend to go with what they perceive as the popular opinion or what ever their religious leaders tell them regardless of what they believe.    I do agree that they need a liberalizing reform movement to move them into at least the twentieth century,  moving them to the twenty first might just be asking too much :zoinks:
