The potential for elegance is probably there but it just isn't as revered in our society anymore. So the glamorous people are fewer and further between.

I have photos of my grandmother dressed like that it's hard for me to imagine her like that though.  Bette Davis lived in Ct near were I do for awhile and when I was younger we saw he eating in a restaurant

I think it's more a combination of both, and how the world moves.

We had elastics, marbles and knucklebones. Barbies and cuddly toys.
Nowdays kids have video games. They have sophisticated 9 year olds acting like strippers. Wasn't like that when I was young, it must have just been my innocence and my decent school.. But 13 year old sluts I guess have been around forever, mum was telling me about her school.

Thats awesome. I have pics of my late grandmother when she was young. She died recently. Thats cool that you saw Bette Davis IRL. How long ago was this? Should have got an autogaph.

It was in the early 80's I was not a bold kid I met a lot of people who my father would pester me to get autographs from but I was always terrified.

I'm getting old, I've been accruing wisdom for decades now, and I'm thinking I could stand to
become a bit more elegant.  For one thing, I need to own at least a few  "off duty"  outfits
that aren't just old work clothes that have grown too shabby to wear to work.  :fp:

I do the opposite. I wear my "off duty" clothes until they become too shabby to wear in public, then they become work clothes.

We have uniform shirts where I work, so I have one current set and a few in the color we stopped using.

I need to get my new glasses made so I can look marginally more elegant.  :nerdy:

Thinking I should just go ahead and order some new "elegant" t-shirts.
