I only followed him through his first four albums, which I still own on vinyl.
I WAS A FAN!!
Not my normal fare, as most have already said, but I enjoyed his take on history and politics and the whole damn fucked up love thing.
He was even more prolific as an artist than I had known after researching his repertoire over the past couple of days.
Pop-ish, fine. Predictable, seldom. Inspired from "another plane," always. And he had really awesome custom guitars made just for himself!
I received a bootleg copy of his latest just before it came out, I am a bit ashamed to say, but I think it is good enough to buy.
Honestly, though, losing him AND David Bowie in less than a year is just really sad.
