1976 in the states was great

  Bicentennial year! 


   My town had a parade, of course.  Also, my mother had a sewing machine, and she made long
   calico skirts for me and my sister.  Hers was dark reds and blues, mine was pastel versions of
   those colors as I recall.  We wore the skirts to school.  We were 9 and 6.

Next year New Orleans will celebrate it's founding in 1718.  Such a young city.

i bet that people were alot more productive in their day to day lives before the internet.

    Hardly.  I wasted time in more primitive ways back then.  Hours of listening to the radio.
