Must have missed those. Can recall hearing of a couple of instances of groups attempting to establish churches with pot as a religious practice; one was near childhood home town so recall that one best. They were white.
There is more in history about religious groups around pot than Rastafarian belief.
Maybe he's talking about the native americans, but their basis of argument is one of sovereignty from outside laws, not using those outside laws to protect religious freedoms. Plus the Indians were successful, because they aren't white. Maybe that's what he means.
