Media eventually picked up on the clear pattern that emerged
No - because of economy
Yes - because of European identity
I found the bluntness of this to be surprising, in many of the street interviews. Personally, although Norway was always inherently eurosceptical (we are still outside of the EU), I think it shows better than ever by now, that the EU is not what it portrays itself to be. It is another "club" designed to bleed selected victims out, for the benefit of the elite.
I still think that EU has a good uniting factor. Europe is a place that has spawned many, many MANY wars. MANY wars, and it's easy to think that WW2 was the last one, but it was not - far from it.
And it is difficult to wage war against your economical allies. Without a uniting factor like EU, we would be left only with a military defense alliance, that has not been used for defense once since its conception.
