my red wine vinegar has developed something that looks like a kombucha scoby.

maybe i shouldn't use it anymore?
OhEmGee!! :aff: You completely freak me out every time you write something like this. :GA: I'm not even sure if you'd love or hate living with someone like me. I'd throw away all of your rotten food while you weren't looking and replace it with new food. It would either drive you crazy, or you'd never even notice and truly believe everything does last forever.  :lol1:
i don't think it's rotten. it tasted o.k.
and actually i wouldn't mind. it's hard keeping up with the refrigerator, especially since the science experiments happen on their own. probably you would have an issue with it, but things dry nicely in there. I dry blueberries and mushrooms all the time.

Hmm, my theory is that you're jealous of my superior number of food sensitivities, and you're trying to push your immune system into taking exception to something else    :P

I dunno what things she has accomplished or succeeded in while she was there.
Those things are as easy to find on the internet as negative things about her.

You are right Wolfish, Scoby or Mother is what it is. I thought so, because my Bragg's raw apple cider vinegar did the same.

Do I have the option of shooting myself?

Unfortunately not, I asked already...you have kids, like me.  ;)

I was hoping for lightening to strike them both actually. :dunno:

Speaking of lightning, here's a song for Election Day.  :zoinks:

do you think a red wine vinegar mother could be used with white wine?

Yep, from what I see. They say white wine takes longer and is a little harder to make. The mother should change color over time, and some say the first batch may have that hint of red also.

Icequeen has many diverse useful skills.  I envision an Icequeen cable TV show about survivalism!

This one grew on a green tea bag. I thought the thermos had water in it so i left it alone - maybe a month, two months?

I wondered if it were viable, but I am not sure I can drink kombucha anymore. it made me more anemic for some reason.
