A Swedish office block is offering workers the opportunity to have a microchip implanted under the skin of their hands. The radio frequency identification (RFID) chip, about the size of a grain of rice, lets users open doors, swap contact details or use the photocopier, all at the wave of a hand. Seriously though, microchip technology only opens a whole new angle to the realm of hacking and identity theft, especially if finance based. Technology isn't even advanced enough to make current methods of digital access and digital money easy to safeguard, so no sense in implanting in the body just yet.

They don't put them that deep so if you know where it is it shouldn't be that hard.  You could probably overload them with a burst of the right radio frequencies and disable them also.

The bible contains a lot of archetypal language, and the concept of people not being able to buy or sell without some sort of shared mark, or the number of that mark, is easily applied to forms of digital money.
