Call Me Sap, But I Love Stories Like This

Always makes me feel happier when I read a story like this, especially with so many dark things happening in the world right now.

I know, guilty as charged.
I actually sometimes tear up watching some stuff.
Whenever I took any quiz for Asperger's that asked if you are emotionally affected by films and the like, well, I am guessing that many aspies are unaffected or maybe that is just an assumption that has been made about us?

Some don't know they're affected. Really! I 've read that sometimes they have to teach Aspie men to read their own body language, to find out what they're feeling. Thy bury it that deep.

I already knew that trick. I once (long ago, when i was younger and even stupider) went to my GP complaining of panic attacks, cos my heart would suddenly start racing. I told her:  the odd thing is, I can't  figure out what i'm panicking about.

My GP asked: "How much coffee do you drink?"

"Ummm,  about 20 mugs per day"

"Cut down on the coffee" she said.

Umm, yeah, that did the trick. No more panic attacks.   :emb:

Ah, I used to get panic attacks, back to back, most of the day for a period of months. I had no idea what was causing them and thought I was having heart attacks initially. Bloody awful things. They disappeared when I left my ex partner, and was put on medication for hypothyroidism. I was never sure though if they were environmental or due to the condition. I still cannot drink coffee though, and get anxious if I am exposed to too much stimulation, as in while at the theatre etc.

I used to be able to drink large quantities of coffee so strong you could practically stand the spoon up in it too  :dunno:

I do find it quite amusing you didn't suss that it was the caffeine  :green:

It was the ex!  When my ex-to-be went into hospital for a fortnight (thankfully a long way away so i couldn't visit every day) I slept so much that i thought we must have a gas leak.  I even had it tested! But it was just all those years of tension blissfully draining away *happy sigh*

Yeah well, as for the caffeine....well,   I'm a buddhist, ya know.? I think the whole tangible universe is merely an appearance to mind (or somesuch drivel) . So it's temptingly easy for me to simply suppose  that my body is playing up because  of some adverse mental state.  I have to cut myself so hard on Occam's razor that I'm being rushed to casualty before some physical explanation occurs to me

I think that we are both a bit sappy.

I love that story!!

Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

Lol, that one's a surprisingly common mistake.

You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

I see; thought maybe you meant they knew no one showed up.
