I'm working at the film festival for another week and so spending my time here and on FB when not doing anything useful. Since most of the films are digital, it means that I don't have a whole lot to do.

So until now I've posted my thoughts about the films I've screened, the filmmakers I've met and the technology I've faced. Not all of it showed the festival or the films or the filmmakers or the technology in a, shall we say, positive light.

This morning, the tech manager asked me to please refrain from such comments during the festival. He also said that sarcasms were not allowed either. They'd discussed me during today's planning meeting.

So now that they are trying to gag me, what can I do to vent? Inventive ideas welcomed.

Write it down. For yourself, maybe also in the elder bit of I2.

Put in time and effort, and make a book.

Not one to publish now. But, by the time you think it is better for you to leave the festival, you can publish it, online or on paper. See the years you still go on with the festival as research time. And write down as many anecdotes and horror stories as you can.

Not a stranger to the gagging order, me, but apart from the more obvious censorship jibes on FB, I can't think of anything funny to circumvent the festival management.

Having the festival , to survive a year at work, now leading to this must be extremely frustrating.

First the frustration of the festival going down the drain, and then the gagging on top of that.

Yep, I'd write it down and vent like hyke suggested...while doing some creative thinking.

Is the festival publicly funded? That may give you the right to criticize how they spend their funds. Sweden has stricter employment laws than America does.

If you don't want to fight directly, you can use a pseudonym. :thumbup: Or, you could write in Finnish. :orly:

No, the festival is a private foundation, financed in part by donations. Good thinking, though. I'll have a think.

This calls for some extreme passive-agressiveness.

Perhaps you could set off one of those chemical stink bombs that smell like rotten eggs when they show a film you don't like.

Or you could just whip it out and piss on the audience from the projection booth.     :pee:
